Fifteen MLC Marlins swimmers competed with great success at the NSW State Age 5km Open Water Championships at the Regatta Centre, Penrith Lakes on Sunday 21 December.

Marlins finished with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals with 10 of our 15 swimmers finishing in the top 5 in their respective age groups.

In the 14 Years Boys age group MLC Marlins filled 4 of the top 5 placings while in the Girls 15 Years we filled 3 of the top 4: Hannah Luck and Tammy Schafer finishing 1st and 2nd with less than a body length between them.

The course provided the opportunity for parents and other spectators to follow the entire race on foot, adding to the excitement. Many of the spectators looked more worn out than the swimmers by the end of the day.
