The inaugural Mini Marlins Day was help on Saturday Sept 21. The idea behind the event was to give children between 3 and 9 a taste of competitive swimming, but in a fun and relaxed environment.

Several young swimmers came to the MLC Aquatic Centre to swim in a variety of 17m and 33m races. They all took part enthusiastically, from the youngest children who swam with the help of a "noodle", to older ones who raced off the blocks and had little trouble covering the 33m distance.
The Mini-Marlins will become a regular event in the MLC Marlins' calendar. A child does not need to be a member of the MLC Marlins club to race at a Mini-Marlins day. Click on pictures below to view.
