Age Nationals - Perth
In Perth, The MLC Marlins Boys 14 & Under 4 x 50m Club Medley relay team won gold and smashed the Australian and Allcomers record. The relay team also won silver in the 4 x 50m Freestyle relay.
Ian Sarno became the national champion in the 13 yrs 200m Breaststroke, winning with a time of 2.28.84 and breaking the NSW record. He also won silver in the 100m Breast.
John Took won gold in the Boys 14 yrs 400 IM, taking a national IM title for the second year in a row. He also got a bronze in the 200 Fly and finalled in five other events.
Hannah Luck won silver in the 200m Breaststroke, and later, bronze in the Open Water swim. She also finalled in the 16 years 200 Back and 200 IM. Andrew Reis just missed a medal, coming 4th in the 15 years 200 Breast and 6th in the 100 Breast.
William Messervy finished 5th in the 14 years 100m Breaststroke, 5th in the 14 and Under 400 IM, and 6th in the 200m Breast.
Laura Mooney came 8th in the 15 years 400IM, while Naomi Witt came 5th in the Open Water.

School Sport Australia - Brisbane Representing their schools, several Marlins shone at the All Schools National championships at Brisbane's Chandler Pool.
Ian Sarno broke the Australian All Schools record in winnning the 200m Breaststroke in 2.30.98. He also won a silver in the 100m Breaststroke, and a silver as a member of the NSW Schools B Individual Medley team (which came a close second to the NSW Schools A team in the final).
Paul Sindone won gold in the 11 years 50m Breaststroke. He was also 8th in the 12 years & Under 100m Breaststroke.
Suay Toprak won silver in the Girls 10 years 200 IM; she was also 6th in the 10 years 50m Freestyle and 5th in the 50m Breaststroke. Maggie Luck came third in the Girls 10 years 50m Backstroke and 5th in the 10 years 200m IM. SCHOOL NATIONALS RESULTS |
